Offered is this superb silver sceat of Varimudus. The obverse shows a diademed bust right holding sceptre. Runic lettering. The reverse has a cross in beaded circle . C A in lower angles of cross and + VARIMVDVS MONE. An exceptionally rare early transitional type by thrymsa moneyers. Weak strike on the reverse does not detract from the rarity of this piece. A detector find near Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1995.
